Robert Fagles

ROBERT FAGLES is the critically acclaimed translator of Homer’s Iliad (1990) and Odyssey (1996), Virgil’s Aeneid, Three Theban Plays by Sophocles (1984) and The Oreisteia of Aeschylus (1975, 1984). Professor emeritus at Princeton University, where he taught from 1960 to 2002, he has received many awards, most recently the Newington-Cropsey Cultural Studies Center’s Ninth Annual Award for Excellence in the Arts.
